Thank you! Since I am getting my show tank set up soon I have wanted these fish for years now. I got a pair of Crosshatch and a pair of Blue Throat Triggers. Great fish but pigs!

Very nice! Triggers are some of my favorite fish, I had 6 bluethroats at one point. I'll be curious to see how they do in the reef.

Wow beautiful fish Norm! That's my favorite type of trigger. I hope it behaves in your reef tank.

Beautiful fish.

I'm just curious as to how reef safe these triggers are. I'm sure you know what you're doing Phishy, but I had always thought that most (not all) triggers were not reef safe.

I know Jacks at Easton has had some blue throats for decent price but they do not have any right now. Petsolutions have medium ones for $59.99, they lable them as Blue Jaw Triggers.

The crosshatch and bluethroats (and other xanthichthys relatives) are generally thought to be ok in a reef. By ok, I mean they will likely leave corals alone but may eat an occaisional small shrimp or snail. Many people also keep nigers and an occaisional pinktail in a reef. Based on the ones I've kept in the past, I don't see those working out very well. We had a trigger dominant tank for many years, 13 or 14 was the most at one time. They are absolutely awesome fish. If we ever get tired of reefing, I'll turn my tank back to the triggers.

PetSolutions is the same company as Jack's. The reason they have a different name is so they don't have to explain why their internet and store prices are different. Jack's can special order anything they don't have in store that is in the Petsolutions catalog. When you do that though, you pay Jack's price, and not Petsolutions price though. If you want the petsolutions price you have to order it and get it shipped to you through their website or phone order catalog.

there are in Beavercreek Ohio, about an hour away and you cant beat 19.99 overnight shipping, i dont think they allow pickups, but yeah jacks wholesaler, lord knows how much we pay for it on petsolutions and how much jacks marks it up. i have used pet solution numerous time with no problems. order today and gurantee it will be here tomorrow we are so close.

Their online livestock comes from California directly, however, or at least that's I was told on the phone.

correct Brian it does come from cali. Rumor has it they have the common stuff there like clowns and yellow tangs but not sure.

I'm guessing they would have the stuff in Beaver Creek that they regularly stock at Jack's. I don't know if they would ship livestock from their Jack't stock though.
