Thanks for the info on the pic. I'll do my research on them.

I can see your favorite color in those pic. I had to look at the pic and notice they were about the same color. Im the same way with red, blue, and green. Mainly blue and red which makes it hard to pick other color since those always draw me in even tho I keep telling my self I need to mix other color in.

I like the last pic of the acan on the top left very nice. The others are also very nice but I like the well define ring

Lam,
That is the same corals as the two above it. The polyp shape always changes, and makes the whole coral look different. The last pic of all the Acans is from December 2004 right after I had a tank crack. I put them under PC's for just a month while I got things in order. They sure glowed under that lighting, but were stretching up for the light.

This pic is a month later, back under 10K halides.

And this was a small cutting from that coral that I grew into a mini-colony, but under 20K halides. If you look closely to the pic from December 2004, near the bottom middle is a 2 polyp frag. This is that coral 7 months later.

Mothra,
It is a cyphastrea. In this pic, I blasted it with light and it turned red. Normally it's a two tone color. The polyps are orange/red while the body is a greenish color. And some times it can be solid orange too. Really just depends on the lighting.

I don't think it is. I got mine froma Guy in MARS. I think Richard is his name ( red hair guy). I will ask him if it's the same

I got a piece from Richard also, but it sounds like a different piece than you have. Mine is blue-ish purple base with green polyps C. japonica. I'll try to get a pic, it's just starting to get a decent base encrusted where I mounted it.


Either he has a more than one morph or we're getting different colors of the same piece. Interesting, either way I want to find out what the story is. I have a small piece of the Atlantis one also. I couldn't believe that Ming chopped the whole top off that beautiful colony!... but I guess that's what happens when your coral becomes a 'Tyree LE'... luckily I got in before that happened.

I think it's the same piece. Mine may be green now that I think of it. I have not looked at that piece in about 3-4 weeks ( i will be looking at it as soon as I get home now) :)

I know Rob, I could see that from OC that one should be vary bright Orange so your new Lobo seems vary bright purple and green....

Ya it's like a velvety burgandy/purple on the entire coral but the outside edge has dark green and neon yellow/green highlights in with it.
