Hey All! Just wanted to show the progress of my 7 month old reef. :)

The first picture is about month 2. I liked the island look but there wasn't enough room for corals.
The tank is only 13" wide so I ended up building the 'rock wall'.

I do like the tank but I like the first pic. better. Either way its a great tank and as long as your happy with it it doesent matter.

Good going.

I agree it is a very nice looking tank. I do like the first picture better...maybe instead of buying more liverock you could have bought a bigger tank. he,he :)

Holding off on a bigger tank until I get a bigger house. :)

I like both looks but wanted more corals than I could fit on the 'islands'. I was hell bent against the rock wall in the beginning but the tank looks full now and I kinda like it!

I notice you have a flame angel with soft corals, does he pick at them? How did you introduce him with those corals? How could I go about adding a flame angel to my tank? I have a colt coral with hammer, and an open brain. Would you recomend me to try a flame angel, is there any method to help reduce the picking? Thanks

Brett,
I actually had the flame angel for a year before switching from a FO to a reef. The only thing I have ever seen the angel pick on was my open brain...and have only seen that maybe 2 times. No damage was done to the brain. It seems this behavior happened when I didn't feed the tank for a day. I usually keep the fish well fed.

just curious, where you purchased your flame angel? locally? i've heard stories of newly purchased flames not doing well, but you've had yours for a year with no health problems. it looks great.

cheers.

Yes, I bought the flame angel locally, from the Aquarium Center in Reisterstown. Actually I think this summer will make 3 years ago that I bought the angel. :p
