Every week or every two to three days depending on how dirty it gets. It improves skimmer performance. That's what I did on my Remora Pro but since I changed the pump to mag5 and the changed to extended collection cup I do it around every 1 1/2 weeks or so. Faster bubbles coming out of the skimmer seems to clean the neck.
