i got a used cpr for my 37g. cube here on RC....
just hooked it up and of course it's blasting tank with bubbles, which is irritating corals.
i know it will "slime up" and the bubbles will settle down, but in the meantime what can i do?

filter sock hard because the output nozzle is so short.
i temporarily have a piece of a sponge which cuts the bubbles about in half.

Thanks

Which CPR is it? They have adapters that will cut the bubbles down. See link:

Bubble Trap (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=4424&Ntt=cpr&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&N=2004&Nty=1)

Pre-Skimmer (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=4423&Ntt=cpr&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&N=2004&Nty=1)

Check the links. My Dual BacPak came w/ an adapter that fit in to the part where my bio-media was...

close the air off for a few days

let it break in, then open the air up

what does that do?.... allow time to slime?
how long should i cut airway off?
when it is time....will it still produce alot of bubbles?

Be paitent. Don't overfeed in the time you have the skimmer off. No one knows what will happen in a few days, but it's worth a shot...
