whats the difference between an 03 actinic? and a 7100 actinic? i also believe i saw an 04 actinic?? curious, thanks for the help!

03 actnic is a litttle brighter(whiter) imo than say the blue or 7100, which is a little more blue in color. Never heard of a 04 actnic. IMO, the Vho super actinics are the best

^^ interesting you say that, IMO, the 03 actinic is more dull and dark as it gives off a more violet/blue light looking closer to a blacklight if anything (not that purple, but near it)

the 7100k is a very bright blue light, peaking at around 460nm, which is very GREENISH BLUE. this bulb is so bright that it often looks "white" when staring at it for a while- kinda gross if you ask me.

like jagsy said, VHO actinics will really define what a true 03 looks like, more blue than a PC 03, and much better coloration than a 7100k .

never heard of a 04 either.

thanks guys. i just bought 2 96 watt pc 03 actinics, i guess ill now look into the vho super blues and run those along with my 10k MH

the difference is the 7100 is a blue bulb and the 03 is a true actinic bulb which IMO penetrate the water deeper giving corals that nice green glow.
