Mine isn't very good. I swear this thing doesn't hold its calibration on a day-day basis.

Last night my tank read 7.7! I then checked the cal and it was way off- and I had set it the night before.

I know you "get what you pay for".... wish I could find my old pinpoint monitors....

TIA,

- Jeff

I have to calibrate mine almost everytime I use it. Its a step up from the test tube and drops Ph test kits but I am still not satisfied. I have ordered an Aqua Jr controller by Neptune that has a Ph probe and I am hoping that I wont need the Hanna checker anymore.

Has anyone tried/used the Miliwalkee pH tester? Opinions?

My Hanna is over 2 years old, check cal every few months, right on. Rinse under tap water and then RO, have cotton in probe cap with RO water to keep probe wet. It is important to use the storage solution or 4.0 it the storage cap to help keep cal. Also the harsher the tested solution the faster it loses cal. This is why I rinse thoughly after each use, salt water is a harsh solution.

I used a Checker for about a week and and figured I might as well be sticking my finger in the water to test it. I spent the extra money and bought a Hanna PHEP4. Have used it for about a year and haven't had any problems with it.

I have the Hanna pHep4 also, it keeps its calibration pretty well. Just gotta rinse it off after each use.
