Well, I like using the Tronic heaters in many cases, because they fail "off" rather than cooking the tank, IME. I use two heaters (and a temperature-based cutoff) in tanks I like.

I would suggest two heaters, just in case something happens to one.
My favorite heater would be Finnex. They are heavy duty and have a nice controller. I also like the Won Pro Heat II because of the digital display. I have both of these heaters in the sump of my 180, and I think they compliment each other well.

ive got an ebo jager b/c there are many other reefcentral members who use this heater as well.

All heaters are junk. Your best bet is to buy a GOOD temperature controlle and plug the heater into it. IMO it's the only way to go.
