Hey extended teammates,

Some of you may remember that my son is competing in the zone championships in Houston this week after his qualification times last week in Nashville. There are only 4 zones in the US prior to nationals, and basically 15 and older constitute 99% of that ilk, Kyle is 14. Tonight he made his first final event in the 200 Free style, he swam a 1:58.39. He is the 2nd fastest kid in the nation!

I'll keep you posted as the weekend progresses.

Wow, 200 meter free in 1:58.39, that is impressive.
My 15 year old only did the 200 yd free in 1:56.

You do have every right to be proud. Do I hear full ride?

absolutely incredible man. I swam in high school, and that kid is cruisin'. You'll have scouts beating down your door in no time, if they haven't already. A huge congratulations. Looks like he will be able to name his school...with a full one, as masterswimmer implied. Imagine what a full scholarship will do for your finances!!! Hell yeah

Another year gone by, he's now 15. Last year's time for the 200 improved to 1:55.47, he took 2nd. The only kids that could beat him were 17 and 18 year olds.

This year he made 4 junior national times and won the high point honor in the Southeastern zone held in ATL last week. The best swimmers from FL, GA, AL, MS, TX, NC, SC, VA, KY and TN were present. He will be competing on a national level this winter. He took gold in the 400M IM with a 4:39.25.

Looks like I'll be out of reefing a little longer than I thought, this traveling is $$$.

Not good for us, but good for you. Family should come first. We will just miss you a little longer.

Congratulations to your son on his effort and accomplishments.

Another year, and still crusin. He has set all the high scool records, took high point in state, and..... he was invited to the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs Co. Only the top 30 boys and girls in the nation are invited. It is the precursor to the Jr. National and National Team. He has Jr. National times already but those won't happen until the summer. This next w/e he has been invited to the US Open in West Lafayette, IN. 80% of our Olympic and National Team will be there- this is getting serious. He will be in the water with Michael Phelps and Aaron Piersol. Wish him luck.

Another year folks. Kyle is in Nashvle tonight and has over the last two days swam two lifetime best performances in the 200 and 400 IM.
His times are in yards (its the season for yards, not meters), but he has two Olympic Trial times as a
Junior in HS. It will be Spring before the times are accepted by the IOC.
He won state last Feb in the IM and 100 back.
