I bought this coral at my LFS and after bringing it home I am not too sure if it's alive or not. After looking at the color closely at home it has a little green at the tips and the entire body looks really light or off white. If it's alive and doing well how long will it take to start growing?http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/95697Lobophytum_green_8_1_05_05_croped.jpg

I think it's a Lobophytum (Green).

It could take awhile. Nothing to worry about. As long as your water parameters are right I would say it should start expanding in less then a week. If your water parameters are not correct it could be like that for a long time. They can hold on through a lot but just won't open.

I would agree with haid....leather sometimes has a habit of close up for days ...and I mean days.....

You can tell when it's dead because it will start to desolve and stink like no tomorrow if you pull a piece out of the tank. What it's doing now looks pretty normal.

Mahalos (Thanks), for the information and for the assurance.
