i am getting a 120 gallon tank and am buying thins in advance so everything will be ready when it gets here. the tank will be used as a fowlr tank. but i can't decide on what skimmer to use that skimms the best and is at a reasonable price.

I'd look at the Euro-Reef line. The ASM skimmers are about the same design, a bit less well-constructed, and about 20% lower in price, IIRC. The Deltecs are supposed to be very good but quite expensive.

i have been looking at the euro reefs and have heard a lot of good reviews on them but i would have to save up to get one but there is a saying if your want the best some times you have to pay the best.

I would go with a ASM G-3, very good skimmer. Here is a link to take a look.

ASM is the same specification of the Euro Reef at a fraction of the cost because of the extruded PVC "Plastic" fittings. Don't let the price tag fool you on the quality of skimate that this skimmer produces.

i know the asm skimmers are great but i would also do a search on the new coralife super skimmers they are getting good reviews also. i am alos going to give it a try for my tank i am setting up

Goto ASMSKIMMER.com and get a ASM g-3, best bang for the buck

wow tha asm look very good but the euro reef still look a bit better. although the asm is a better price so i will probably have to decide between the two if another one doesn't pop up into the comparison.

Imo, I would make room for 2 skimmers in your sump. I'm running a Aqua-C EV-180 and a Euroreef CS5-2. For the price of the Aqua I could have almost got 2 Euroreefs. With 2 skimmers you can clean 1 at a time and get more constant skimmer. BTW, IMO the euroreef outskims the Aqua even though it is rated for a much smaller tank (more total skimmate production with a lot less adjustment).

I love my Euroreef skimmers. I run them on both of my tanks. On my 125 I had a turboflouter...I hated it. It cost me more that the Euroreef and it did half the job.
