Rubbermaid tubs

I see alot of people on here are using Rubbermaid tubs for various things... I just picked one up and was wondering if I should be rinsing it with something ... is there any chemicals or off-gassing I need to worry about in or on the tub prior to using it?

I haven't had any problems using them-- I have rinsed them. I read someone who recommended rinsing it, then putting it out in the sun for a few days-- then rinsing again.

I used one for a sump for 3 1/2 years and mix up all my water in them.

I have one and was careful as it is my prop tub. I cleaned it outside and then let sun dry for a few days and then washed again.

I have had no issues with mine and have had it running for over a year.

Do not wash it with soap.
