Those of you who got Montiporas at the May meeting in Bristol, please check them for nudibranchs. I discovered several chomping on my encrusting blue Monti. They're white, frilly, and about 1/4" long max. You'll see white patches where they've been eating. Strong Lugol's solution dip for 10 minutes with basting took care of them, but I don't know about the eggs (didn't see any, but they must be there).

Just realized I may freak everyone out with this who got a Monti frag from me today. This monti I'm refering to is NOT one I offered at the swap, and I checked those from the swap thoroughly (mother colony tonight, frags before I packaged them up), so there should be no problems there. I think this species of nudi is exclusive to encrusting varieties only. However, I always recommend everyone check and dip their frags, regardless of the source.

Speaking of that Monti, I think it's M. effusa.
