ballast?

I am thinking about switching out my tranformer/capacitor type ballasts to ICECAP MH ballast to drive my XM 15Ks. Anyone local using these and are you happy with them? I have read some decent reviews but here from someone local.

The ballast or the bulb?

I have an Icecap ballast for my 150 watt DE. And it works very well. Quiet and reliable so far.

As far as the bulbs... I had some XMs, 20K I think. I remember them not retaining their original intensity for as long as some other bulbs I've had.

ron, I hate to piggyback, but I have a blown capacitor. Do you have any idea where I can get a replacement?

Well In about a week I am going to be selling two pair of 250 MH ballasts. All enclosed. You might want to check with hellolights they might just sell the capacitor.

If you know what kind of capacitor, maybe radioshack or something similiar. If nothing else, I'm sure you can find something online.

It is a huge capacitor I doubt Radio shake will have it.

Ive got at least 2 Icecap 250wt SEs running right now (I might actually have 5, but I cant think of what make the other 3 are right now) and theyve worked very well for me. Each of the 5 halides running right now also have XM bulbs, as does the 400wt halide Im not running right now. Which reminds me (not to hijack), Ive got an extra brand new unused 400wt XM bulb, and am looking for a new 250wt 20000K XM... anyone wanna trade (or buy just the bulb? $50...)
