What size holes are you wanting to drill. I've got diamond hole saws from 5/8" to 2 1/2".

kind of on the same line - can any side on a standard glass 55 gallon tank be drilled i.e. bottom/back? Thanks.

drilling the bottom is a bad idea because it is often mande of tempered glass which is much more likely to crack or shatter while drilling. Also, tempered glass can crack well after drilling. Stick with the sides...they are made of non-tempered glass.

the tank has one hole for a 1 inch bulkhead. I need another hole for a 1 inch bulkhead.

Art, if I measured correctly, I think that is a 1.75 inch hole.

Ok, I measured the hole that is in the tank. It appears to be 2 inches.

I have called Standard Wilson Glass. They can cut a 2 inch hole for $20. BTW Glass doctor wanted $50.

Anybody got a better idea?

Thanks

I have a portable drill press that you can mount a portable/handheld drill to it and Art has the bits. I doubt you could mess up with that combo but then again running to Art's then my house and reverse may not be worth $20 to have someone with experience do it for you on the spot (unless you just want to gain experience).

Art drilled three holes for me in my 55g glass sump

Thanks to Art.
