I heard that the temp should be between 72-78 degrees in the tank, i keep mine at 80, is this to high?

78-82 is the range many many aquariums run at - I would be cautious about going higher than 84, but 80 is generally fine unless you have fish with slightly more demanding needs.

They will be fine :)

Generally cooler is better - but almost no one at all can keep a tank much below 76 unless they live in a cool climate, have really low intensity lights, virtually no pumps or powerheads, or run a chiller.

I normally run mine between 78-79 during the Winter/Fall/Spring months, but during the summer I keep it between 81-82. If I don't raise my heater during the summer the tank temp goes down to 78 during the night and gets to 82 in the day. Its better to keep the temp stable than to have it rise and fall.

Yeah day to night temperature changes are almost non-existent in a reef.
