i just purchased this camera and there are these close-up lenses that I can purchase. Ebay has them for the best price. lenses (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=67345&item=3879841966&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V) Are they worth buying for close-up shots? Anyone have this camera? I was looking at the 7630 and 7590 but I got this one for the price-point.

i looked at the specs on this camera and it looks like there are no threads on the lens, so you won't be able to screw filters onto the front. i couldn't tell if you can use an adapter to screw onto the camera... usually that feature is listed on the review [the need for an adapter to use filters] so that leads me to believe you cannot. if that's the case then you'll have no way of attaching the close-up filters to the lens- aside from holding them there or taping them on... both less than ideal options

You should still be able to get some real nice close ups without the other lenses. I use the Kodak DX6490 and love it. I have posted some pictures in this forum and get quite a few compliments.

that seems pretty outrageous that they would list filters for that specific camera when it does not even take filters... but maybe i'm wrong [or the review i read was wrong]. i'm going to the Kodak website to check this out..............................................
well, that's what i get for believing reviews :p
good news- there are threads for accessory lenses [filters, wide angle or telephoto adapters].
you can get the Kodak adapter (http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-locale=en_US&pq-path=2328) and that will take 37mm filters. if you get that one the ebay filters will be too big- they were 52mm as i recall.
glad we got to the bottom of this :D
