can anyone I.D. this octopus and is it safe with to 2 bambo sharks

i bought this about 2 weeks ago at the urging of my son, i just would like to know what type it is, and i would like to know what is the price range, right now im feeding it hole shrimp and lanced fish

i dont see any picture... and in the wild, sharks eat octopus or if the shark is small enough the octo will eat the shark.

Octo should definitely not be kept with sharks. Octos are typically kept in a specimen only tank due to the fact that if they get spooked they can ink which will contaminate your water and kill everything in your tank... including the octo itself. The picture is a tad too small for me to identify the species though it resembles a few common octos to the trade. Good luck.

AS an FYI- most octos and squids are food for smaller substrate dwelling sharks. So your offering a prey item in a glass box for food. not good

Secondly, octos really belong in a species-only tank setup to handle their specific needs. they require a bit more work and water quality than people give their teleost fish

It maybe a bimac but I am not 100% sure. Does it have 1 blue do on eather side?

Octos are frequently eaten by smaller sharks in nature keep it in a species only tank. Check out the ceaphadod from under the special intrest forms for more info.

if the octo is swift enough the octo can eat the shark so careful

Broken record time... Bad Idea both for the shark and octo - if the octo inks, say bye bye to the sharks more than likely - sharks are sensitive to water issues.

i would do a seperate tank or just bring it back to the pet store. also there is a forum on here for octo's and cuttlefish.
