Ummm.... I'm not a flow expert or anything, so could someone help me? I have all maxi jets right now, everything from 400s to 1200s. Would any of these gadgets fit on my maxis, and would they help? I think I'd like to put one on the maxi I have blowing left to right across the front of the tank, about 1/2 way down, and another on the one I have blowing behind the rocks on the bottom blowing right to left to keep poo from building up in the tank.

I just don't know any of the inlet/outlet measurements on my powerheads, or whatever the flow/force requirements are for the eductors/pecnductors. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

James you might want to start looking at other types of pumps for circulation I tried the MJs and now am seeing the light

yea, I hear ya wayne. If I could get a pair of tunzes w/ a controller for the price of 5 MJ 1200s I'd be all up on it!

James you could get 2 penductors and a pump(GenXPCX40) to run them for about $160 that would use less electricity than the powerheads you have(110n watts). I can't guarantee your sandbed would stay put though:)
I guess you could try a GenX pcx30($90 and 65 watts), that might be a little more reasonable in your tank. Just throwing out ideas:)

hhmmmm...... being the total moron I am, is that pump external or not? I have no sump or anything, just a small HOB fuge. I like your idea so far! I don't have time to look up all the info right now, but do you think it's pretty do-able for a newb like myself?

Also, I'm using crushed aragonite, so it's a bit heavier than most sand beds and shouldn't blow around too bad. would I be able to plumb that one pump to have two nozzles on either side of the tank? (Probably one in the front top right, and the other in the bottom back left)

You do not have to have a sump for a close loope and you could use two.

I believe I need TWO black male 3/4" penductors.

DJ, are the ones I got from you 3/4 or 1"? I need two more of the same.

I believe those are the 1" male fred. The 1" female accepts 3/4" male connections. I plan on using locline....hence the female, because Locline is not presently made in 1". I spoke with a rep today from locline, and she is pushing for them to make a 1" product. I wish they would. Might be coming soon.

I think they are all classified as 3/4 inch as when I called the place they said the black ones are 3/4 the blue ones are 1" the guy said that you should only need 3/4 ones he gave me a long detail explanition why but I don't think I could repeat it.

I will order all black 3/4" ones inless you tell me different I just need to know if you want a male or female.

Either or would actually work for me. Let's go with female this time...should make it slightly easier to connect to the Loc-line without the big white PVC adaptor!

Penductor Plumbing
Some of you have new penductors and will be installing them soon. One item you may not realize you'll need is a double socket adaptor. I got mine from modularhose.com - cheap and fast shipping. This will change the direction of the LL (3/4" Double Socket, pack of 4 Code:61514). consider this; from the penductor you need a male LL adaptor (3/4" NPT Connector, pack of 4 Code:61505 )which has a small bulb which connects to the large bulb side of the next LL pc. Add a couple more segments and you still end up with a small bulb which needs to connect to another male adaptor that screws into your pvc that comes from the pump. Youve got two small ends so they wont connect. This double socket allows you to do it
