I've got a 180gal. 2 1" drains and 2 3/4" returns. I'm thinking about using 2 mag 9.5 for the returns will this work. Also could I get more from a mag 12.
Thanks

I would suggest ditching the Mag idea all together.
They ARE little workhorses, but they are also little heaters and don't do well pushing water up.
Can you drill your sump and use an external pump?

if you want subermisable pumps then i would at least go with a mag 18 or 24. If you can use an external pump then a lot of options open up to you

Yes, I can do that. I was thinking about using an external. Would 1 work plumbed together? Any suggestion on size and brand?

One would work fine.
Look into the big Dolphins or Sequence.
Both excellent pumps and both energy efficient (in this hobby anyway ;) ).
