View Full Version : MR-2 - Adjusting bubble size

I’ve had my MR-2 skimmer for a couple of months now, and I had always wondered how to know when I have achieved the perfect bubble size (by adjusting the injected air). By closing the needle wheel little by little, you start getting smaller size bubbles which is what we are looking for, but how do I know if I have crossed the limit and my skimmer is starving on air ? There is no way to measure it ? Are there any special techniques that could allow me to achieve the perfect setting ?

You can buy a airflow meter to help you determin how much air is needed for the best bubble size. MRC does not have that option but I am sure you can rig something up.
