haven't heard of that brand. Be careful on the ratings though. they usually turn out to be very generous on the ratings. If in doubt go for the next size up. Not sure what is available in S A. I'd go for one that will fit in your sump, one that will be easy to maintain. The needle wheel skimmers do a good job. Best bet is to find other locally and check out what they have.

I dont know how good it is because the shop also sells Red Sea skimmers but they are incredibly expensive.
Anybody else heard of the above brand

would it be cheaper to buy one in the states and have it shipped?

Yes I just checked on Marine Depot but unfortunately they dont ship to South AFrica. Do you know of any other sites that will ship here?

Contact ASM and they might help you if you pay the extra freight and mention Reefcentral.

i think the big problem you are going torun into is the difference in electricity. 110 vs. 220

anywhere in Europe for that matter. There are ton's of mail order places that I'm sure would ship.

might even want to start a new thread in General reefkeeping to see who else in RC is from Europe or South Africa. I bet you'd be suprised at the response.
