Im wondering, if it would be feasable to use a 100w ss heater in my 2.5g nano tank. The 25w heater I have in there is making me bervous will all the rock that is/could be in contact with it. Im guessing when the 100w kicks on it might overshoot the temp a bit in such a small volume? Just an attempt to use equipment I already have instead of buying something. what do you think??

try THIS (http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=WB1111) one. a 100w heater is rated for somewhere in the range of a 20g tank.

Thank, that is the one I was going to get. I realized s steel would rust in seawater. I also thought of raising the reef in those white ceiling grids(you know what I mean? often seen in prop tanks) and attaching the heater to the bottom of the grid.

be careful. the heaters do get pretty hot, so it could melt the plastic if its touching. not 100% sure but theres a chance.
