Motor Location and Best Circulation

Hello again ,

Where is the best place (meaning height in relation to the aquarium wall) to fit the submerged motor. I now have a 20 Watt motor for my 90 Cm long aquarium a little halfway below the middle. Is perhaps a higher mounting more better for the circulation? I need all those black poops to disappear in a neatly fashion.

Each tank is different, so I'd just try a few possibilities, and check for dead spots.

What is the best way to check for dead spots?

Well, I feed phytoplankton, and I can see it dissipate through the tank. Same with food. Also, you can watch for detritus buildup on the sand.
