can you just throw them in the trash??? if not , what do you do with them????

I just throw mine in the trash. Sometimes I break them for the sheer joy of causing destruction. :)

I don't know about PC but I know that normal fluoresent bulbs contain a dangerous chemical and you shouldn't break them. I think they contain mercury vapor or something like that.

yup. and that's one reason t5s are so cool. smaller/thinner bulbs = less mercury in the landfills.

I take mine to the county hazardous waste facility. Its free, keeps the mercury out of the environment, and there's a couple of reef heads there who love to swap stories!
