hope this isn't a dumb question but is 100 watts of pc equal to 100 watts of t-5? will they penitrate to the same depth? i currently have a 33long reef. it's 12" deep and has 260 watts of pc. now i'm thinking of a 75@20" deep and need lighting. metal halid is not an option. i don't plan on clams and sps thanks bob

go for t-5 HO for sure-

the difference is like day and night

believe it or not- 100W of t-5 HO power is far brighter than 100W of PC. this is why a 4 54W 48" HO tubes will wack 4 65W tubes.

plus they give way better colors than PC will ever do.

be sure to check reefgeek.com for your t-5 lighting needs- be sure to go for a SLS TEK LIGHT- there are no other equal substitutes

Your tank about same as my, and I'm not into SPS.

I'm using 4 x 4' T5 HO 54W (3 x 6,500K, 1 x 20,000K (mistake by supplier) ), and 1 x 3' T5 HO actinic 39W.

Now still in low stocking, seems good enough.

If you go about same as my, would suggest you get 2 x 4' actinic.
And get 10,000K of the white
