Ok I know this is bad but just had to share since im fixing it tonight (got tired of being shocked) My electrical child turned into a monster, I just counted it takes 21 plugs to run my system.. Started with 3 or for now 21..lol piled away between the tanks!
If im the only person that has a mess like this I will give up the hobby..lol

Remember im fixing it tonight! its only been this way for 3 years!

HOLY COW!

No, mine looks like:

I have a third strip over on the left side.

Only difference now is my MH ballast is now on top of the canopy, not under the stand.

I really hope you don't love or cherish anything in your home, because that is about as bad a fire hazard as I have ever seen! Perhaps you can just submerge all of those wires in a can of gasoline to conceal them:eek:

Dave, they are the Prime 7-day programmable digital timers from Cosco. I think they are like $15 for a 2-pack?

I've had them down there for almost 2 years and LOVE them. Never have had a problem.

Wow...I mean wow...yeah, I'm surprised that you haven't started a small fire yet. Let alone severely shocked yourself to the ER. Glad to hear it's getting fixed finally!!

I keep all of my wires organized just in case. If you lable them it is much easier to keep track of what you are working with.

I think your black Urchin jumped out your tank, oh wait nevermind.

What would be nice is a power strip layed out to fit transformers and timers.

They make them.

here is just one example, but there others out there that are just for bricks (AC/DC adapters)

Best investment I ever made

You cant imagine how simplified everything becomes. Not to mention I can precisely monitor the elctrical consumption of my tank hour to hour (or instantaneously if I plug in a new gadget).

WOW!!!!!!!. I'm glad that Jen is a neat freak. I think she would kill herself if she ever let our equipment look like that. But glad your fixing it :D
