Up for sale are Two Frags of PPE's for $100 Each. Each frag will contain 7 nice sized polys. I did not get these from Blane, but I guarantee that they are the exact same genus and species and are the same colors. I will ship to anywhere in the lower 48 states at the buyers expense. You may choose FEDEX priority overnight for $45 or USPS overnight for $20. I would prefer FEDEX because the PPE's will spend about 8 hrs less in transit. Also USPS can sometimes take two days and do not guarantee ontime delivery.

Check out my photos. I took both photos myself under power compact 50/50 lighting and I feel this is very representative of their colors. The colors are very intense and beautiful.

1st come 1st served.

Thanks for looking.

I have more PPE's frags available. The frags are $100 each and have the same shipping options available. $20 USPS or $45 for FedEx priority overnight. I have 6 frags available, and I probably won't have any more for a while so get them while you can. Two of the frags have 5 polyps plus a baby. Three of them have 6 polyps, and one has seven. All are beautiful. These won't last long. PM or post if interested and I will give you my paypal info ASAP.

Thanks

Hmmmm. Is that really a PPE or a Caribbean Cultured Zoo?

If it is a true PPE from Blane then fine but if not a 300% markup is a little drastic.

Bryan.

What's does the caribbean zoa look like?
I'd like to see.
Thanks,

he states at the begining of this thread that he did not get them from Blane, obvously what constitutes a PPE is opinion. IMO if it looks like one it acts like one it eats like one it is one. in other words if some marine biologist says it's the same genus same family blah blah blah but it does not have the exact same dna. it would not bother me. perhaps PPE's have grown in more than one clump out in the wild.
so to me it is a PPE it just didn't come from Blane.

also Bryan if you guys get any more of those caribbean cultured zoa put me down for three, you just show them sold out. maybe demand is greater than supply?

Good point! I think if it looks like a PPE then people are paying for the look, not the name.
The problem I have is the Carribean look alikes cost a lot less.

I have Palythoa that look exactly like PPE's but because I didn't get them from Blane, they may not be PPE. The colony they came from was collected before Blane found his PPE's about 5 years ago.
One point I'd like to make is,if you've been around long enough, you always notice when a new color morph of Paly or Zoa comes out, the market is flooded with them. Most people on this board were not around when the PPE color morph came out. So as far as we know, there are a lot more people with the exact PPE color morph out there. Just because Blane named it, doesn't mean there aren't more PPE out there.
I'll take a pic of mine tonight and post them.
Sorry for derailing this thread.
Bill

I agree Bill. I never read Blane invented the PPEs. I've only seen where he originally distributed them. Does that mean the ones in my gallery aren't PPE's cause I got them wholesale? I third the thought, if they are an identical match in color, texture, size, habits, I mean, they are PPEs.

The second pic there, where some of the polyps are closed up, the lines on the outside of the polyp look just like the lines on my closed polyps.

Well, it's the defining aspects. PPE are Palythoa. They have a Bright Green Skirt, deep purple body and a green mouth. Their stalks are usually silver/white, with a dark brownish undertone.

"Palythoa is a genus of colonial cnidarians [or coelenterates] belonging to the Order Zoanthidea."
"Palythoa incorporate sandgrains into the outer layers of their tissue."

Your welcome. Good to hear you received them and thank you for the kind words. I keep a very small frag tank and try to only keep really brightly colored corals. I try to stay away from the browns and tans. I will definitely let you know when I get some of my other corals fragged.
