well I guess I've got em. At first I thought they were cool and excited that I had all this new growth (lol). Then I saw one in the middle of my green star polyps. I got him off and fragged the green stars that pulled up with him.
Anyway- I have read a bunch now about them and thought I would ask if anyone in the club had them and if they had solved the problem succesfully.
The best options I have seen are:
Joes Juice
Berghia (nudibranch?? Sp??)
CBB or Klein Butterfly
What do you guys think?

I am using Joe's Juice. It works for most of them in 1 application, but some are more stubborn than others and take 2-3 applications.
It works well IMO.

The Juice is good, but not a cure-all. Use it to mow down the big guys you see, but there will always be more. Peppermint shrimp have done well for most people.
There has been more talk about this topic than almost any other thing on reefcentral (except for that crazy ZEO thread! After 50 posts, I quit reading!) do a search and you'll find all you need to know and more.

Yes this is a much discussed topic. Thanks for the help. Do you think my brand new FLame Hawkfish will kill the peppermint shrimp? He is about 2.5"
I bought him just before I thought I would ever really need shrimp.....

I've used the Berghia verruccicornis nudis and Pepp shrimp and both work (nudis a little better because they only eat the Aips, but then die off when the food supply runs out). I have found with Aips that reduction in nutrient levels will usually take care of them. Here's where that skimmer might help a bit.

I decided today I would setup a 10 gallon tank and place the live rock with the most aiptasi in it with a pepermint shrimp.
My reason for doing this is so that I can control the available food for the shrimp. Otherwise with all my live rock he may decide there are other items more tasty. Also I am worried my flame hawkfish will eat the shrimp. I plan to change out the live rock with other infested rock from the main tank. I dont intend on feeding the shrimp anything just rotaiting rock. Does this sound like a good plan for now?
Well, I just purchased a used ER CS8-2. Currently I am running skimmerles. Maybe that will help.
Thanks
Go to a farm supply store, buy a horse syringe, with needle, and inject them with super-saturated Pickling Lime. Kills 'em every time! Plus, you can use the syringe (w/o needle) for measuring samples for testing, additives, etc.

Ill take the advice on the syringe. SOunds like a good Idea.
I checked on Joe's Juice they did not have at LFS. May order if the other things dont help.
About the pickiling lime... where do I get this stuff. I dont want to guess and kill my new hawkfish.
thanks

I have peppermints in two of my tanks for that reason. They work well for me.

about the peppermints...no one has said wether its even worth a shot at putting peppermints in the main tank with the 2.5" flame hawk. Its a big tank with no real crowding, so I think they would have some space.
Whata ya think?
Pickling lime is available here in the country, because it's used for canning. Manufacturers are Balls and Mrs. Wages. I can even get it at Walmart out here in the sticks. Kalkwasser powder will also work, but it costs more. I'm sure someone in you club can give you a little if you can't find it.

cool. thanks
when you say super-saturated, do you have to mix it? Or do you use straight out of the can?

I have 3 in with my flame... They just stay in the rock most of the time.

Super-saturated means beyond the solubility limit at the current temperature. In other words, mix the heck out of it in a little bit of water, put it in the syringe, and inject the anenomes, before it precipitates out. I use this method sometimes. It works okay, but not as good as Joe's Juice IMO.
