i di d the salfierit test and with the last drop it finnaly turned clear blue color. so that means my calcium is 500 ppm wich I am not sure if it is good or bad. My alk might just be out of whack so I gues I need to by that test kit huh? Tomorow I am going to calibrate my pinpoint ph meter I have the fluid but how do I do it?
thanks,
Nicholas

Yes, that would be 500ppm. Shouldn't hurt anything as long as Alk can be maintained. I'd definately get a kit for Alk.

Hmm... my Salifert Ca test changes FROM blue TO pink. Alk is fine around 2.9meq/L as long as it's steady there. Otherwise, if you find it dropping below that, you'd want to keep it a little higher to compensate.
