It might not even be a slug, but it sure knows how to move! Im talking 2/3x faster than the average turbo snail.

Some guessing here due to the poor image, but if it's a chiton you'll see 8 distinct segments. Also maybe a fleshy limpet - I've only seem orange ones from the Caribbean and black ones from the Pacific(is it tan or is the color off in the pic?).

Thats what I was thinking it was but couldn't remember what the name of it was. I had a black one for a long time. Cant really tell from that pic tho...

I have 10 bucks on a chiton - I think genus Cryptoplax. I had a couple hitchhike on my Tonga LR. They're generally nocturnal and photophobic. Both are around 4" long when fully extended and at work.
Mine have been in the tank for about ... 10 months now? A few weeks ago I saw a new one about 1" long! It moved a lot faster than the parents(?) but was otherwise the same. I love 'em.

Here are a couple of pics I took over the months.. Sorry they aren't a great match - one was soon after I got him with an older digital camera, and the other I took to show Calfo because he looked like he was shriveling up and dying (incidentally I think it turned out to be a THIRD one and it bounced back):

This was Quistis' back end and was quite a bit darker as it was only a short while after sitting dry on the LR for who-knows-how-long.

I can try and nab a better pic - if you think it's close but aren't convinced, toss me a PM and I'll see what I can get tonight.
