Not sure if my BTA is spawning or not. It looks like it is smoking almost. I have taken some pictures and am in the process of creating a photobucket acount to link them. Any thought would be appreciated.

Sorry some of the pictures aren't that great. I haven't played with the camera all that often and had to make due the best I could when I needed it.

looks fine to me... feed it ... water changes and watch your nitrates...

But it looks ok from the cheap seats

What makes you think its spawning?

If you look closely in some of the pictures there is a small smokey stream coming out of the mouth. It is very difficult to see in the pictures I saw it first hand though. I thought the he was going to move because he wasn't nestled down in his rock like usual. Then I came back down to check on him and he was "smoking".

Monday night. Both BTA's were smoking. This was not pooping which is a long stringy pile of poo. THis was 'smoke' and they were both doing it for about 1/2 hour from their middle vent. Both are now doing fine. Tank was cloudy when the lights went out, perfect the next day.

Very strange to watch.

I wonder if the lunar cycle or somesuch is causing them to go off? I have seen programs where everything on the reef spawns the same night, IIRC triggers by lunar cycles. My tank is kind of close to an east facing window (no problems with heat/algea etc).
