Lighting question:
Just got my Cylinder tank in today, 37 Inches by 37 inches, 206 Gallons
I was planning to use one 400W DE or 250 SE depending on what I want to keep in there ( I figured I would keep the light loving SPS on top and
I did not think about the 8 inch diameter overflow in the middle
Any suggestions on lighting for this tank

I would say go for either one 1000 watt MH or 2 DE 400s. I'm leaning twards the 2 400's because you could put a 10K and a 20K to give you a great color. you will need some serious ligh tot penetrate to the bottom to evel allow for LPS. can you post pics of the tank sounds awsome

The problem with One MH is that, most of its light intensity would be wasted on a 8 inch overflow that is right in the middle
I was thinking of using 6 -8 24 W T5's in a triangle or square config.
I will post some pics as soon as I uncrate it.

then try 2 400s or 2 250s about 8-10 inches apart

I would consider 3 or 4 150 watt DE MH's.

I second the mulitple 150 watt. The only problem might be the 37" depth. You could put in actinics as well for more light/color.
