lfs around here has one in their NC12. It is a tiny fish though, and knowing the lfs guy pretty well, I would say it is only temporary.

My lfs keeps tangs just like other fish,in 1'x1'x1' cubes.

one of my lfs keeps purple tangs (and 3-4 inche ones at that) in tanks no bigger than 7 x 7. the tanks are for small frags and they also keep mandarins in there :eek: (for you SD people, AW, grr) they also sell all kinds of fish like batfish when they're small and don't say they need big tanks. also helmut gurnards, atlantic lookdowns, and pilot jacks :eek: . (they get 3-4 feet!)

go to a petco. IMO 20 purple tanks in a 30 gallon tank is much worst than a tiny baby yellow in a nano for a couple of months.

Is netting fish off a reef and sticking them in any glass or acrylic box right? Right and wrong comes with many different opinions in this hobby, people will do as they please and i don't think flaming them in an online forum will change anything.
