Where do people mount their Lighting Ballasts???

Where do people mount their Lighting Ballasts???
I am moving my 75 gallon reef soon, it has 4x96 watt power compacts with 2 ballasts. I keep the ballasts outside the cabinet on top of a tiled end table next to the tank as they get quite hot to the touch.
I would like to mount them inside the cabinet but am worried that the heat would be excessive, I am looking for suggestions.

I actually mounted mine on the wall behind the tank, they are off set about a 1/2 inch from the wall with the heatsink on them. They never get hot, they barely get warm to the touch (IceCap 660's)

mines sitting on the floor next to the tank due to poor location/setup at startup. Its also only warm to the touch (250wMH)

My current Ice Cap 660 (and my previous WH7) sitting on top of my canopy, because I'm too lazy to put them somewhere.

I used to keep my Ice Cap ballast in the stand.
