Help with DIY canopy plans please...

Could I take this apart and attach it to the top of my canopy?

Should I screw in the ballasts and the starters right next to the bulbs? There are alot of cords in the back of this unit, do they all go inside the canopy as well?

Do I need a piece of acrylic to prevent salt from getting up there?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

yea you dont want salt spray to get on the bulbs, but you could mount the bulbs up in the canopy then run the rest of the "guts" to out side to cut down on the heat

where would I run them to? The cord isn't very long.

Well if you have room mount it in the canopy. But I would suggest making shure taht all the electronics are covered, can I ask why not just use the fixture as-is

Doesn't fit, don't have a place to mount moonlights, need to install cooling fans, unsightly.
