when to change light bulb

I'm using a Satellite power compact, and it has been running for about 7 months. All the corals seem to be doing fine. So how can you tell when it is time to buy replacement bulbs?

I change bulbs every 6 months

When I had PC I would change them every 6 months as well. :)
