Light out-Needed-Old 250 DE MH bulb

My 250 DE MH bulb melted in my hanging fixture and I am not sure if the ballast/fixture will work anymore. I am looking for an old 250 DE MH bulb, that I can buy to test in the fixture until I can get another one ordered. I don't want to order one if the ballast/fixture is no good anymore. If you happen to have an old bulb, please PM me and let me know how much you want for it or post here. I am near Boulder.

Anyone know if the contacts for the bulb inside the MH fixture are blackened, should I sand the black off for better contact, of just leave them and see if it works? Thanks for input.

Guess the sanding of black off the contact bar is a moot point. I tried to install the bulb and found that the contact bar just crumbled. It has burned through so there is no contact. I will get a new socket, install and go from there.

Karvin, if you need a temp. light while you wait for the socket let me know. I have a spare 4ft spacelight I can let you borrow if you need it.

I think I should be OK for a few days. I have 150W of VHO still over the 65 Frag tank. I think I will move my clam over to the 75 just to be safe, but the other corals should do OK temporarily. I am telling them to pretend it is cloudy. :) If I get stuck and the shipment gets delayed, I will let you know.

Sounds like it was arcing maybe. Becareful if any of the other pins on the other stuff is corroded. Fire hazard.
