I'm going to finalize my plans for a 60 Cube tomorrow, and possibly buy everything I need to work on it over the weekend. So far her is my plan...

Buy the 1/4" glass from Continental in Orlando.
2 - 24" x 23 3/4"
1 - 24" x 24"
2 - 23 1/2" x 23 3/4"

This will make the tank perfectly square at 24x24x24.

I will need some emery cloth to make surethe edges are nice and clean.

Some duct tape, and silicon.

Also I am going to make build an overflow to fit inside as well, so will be drilled using a dremel. Any pointers as to want size holes I should drill? Whats the norm? I dont need an extraordinary amount of flow, i will be incorporating a SCWD for flow instead.

TIA

will 1/4 be thick enough? I would use 3/8 at least on the bottom and the back if your drilling.

Just a note on the glass. If you're getting it all pre-cut, they should finish the edges for you too in their pricing. They can do a much better job of it than you can.

hmmm...why did I think that 1/4" was enough? shoot that will change the price now.... Well, I dont think I will be drilling the back, just the bottom, two holes probably, one fo r draining and one for return

I wouldn't go over 18" tall with 1/4" really 16".

3/8" would be better.

The bottom could be 1/4" as long as it is on foam over plywood and not drilled.

Ditto... have you viewed the DIY calculator at the GARF.ORG site?

I made a 60cube, but I used 1/2" all around...not much more than 3/8, and plenty sturdy.
