New corals! and a few other things...

I ordered 4 new corals from Reef Science (http://www.reefscience.com) Monday. Happened to be surfing around, getting my paramaters on the water straight and found their site. They were offering free shipping for Monday orders only, so what the heck.

Ordered was:
1 small Hammer coral
1 Zoo rock (blue/orange/green 30+ polyps, really cool looking)
1 "Frilly" mushroom rock (we're babysitting a rock with similar mushrooms for a friend, and it'll be gone this week, my wife loved them.....18 mushrooms on the rock)
1 Orange ringed, green eyed Favia

Fedex dropped them by at 9 this morning, so they're on the drip at the moment, but as soon as I get them in and they start to open (this evening maybe?) I'll get some pics. The Favia looks killer under Kitchen Flourescents.

Question on acclimating these properly, do you freshwater dip them prior to putting them in the tank? This is a first, and I want to do it right.....

Also, I managed to get a Mag 9.5 for my Melev's Reef Closed Loop setup, and wondered if anyone locally sells Black Schd 40 PVC. I only need it for the pick up and 2 returns, I'll use white for everything behind the tank.

Lastly, I'm going to be getting a Phosban reactor. Those that are using this, what pump are you using on it?

Locally I found a SMALL amount @ Lowe's in Hermitage.

I lied -

Lowe's has a little sch 80, which is dark gray/almost black.

I have been plumbing my tank for 2 weeks, and have visited every hd/lowes (seems like) and haven't seen any black sch. 40.

I'm using black spray paint made for plastic & PVC on mine. I think it's krylon. I did some searches and found a few people who have been using it for awhile inside their tanks with no problems.

Some people use purple primer to make the pipe look corraline encrusted also. I just wait till it does encrust. Steinhouse will be the only one in town I know of that would carry black Sch40 (Ive never seen it tho). Try giving them a call about it.

I run a Rio 600 on my phosban. It is a little too much, so I have to throttle it back. I would recommend a Rio 400 or equivalent.

Bummer, there is a national backorder on the reactors. I think there's a guy on evil-bay with 2, including media and unknown pump for 60 + shipping, may have to do that and work the pump out later.

Looks like I'll be ordering the PVC, anyone needs anything, let me know, I'll be calling Savko.
