I have some chaeto in my fuge and it is about 2" thick covering the whole surface. Will it stop growing or do I need to get rid of some?
How thick do some of you guys have yours?

I jsut got my chaeto, so I can't say from experience, but I would say that as long as the chaeto isn't decaying from lack of light or flow then you should be ok.

I thought the same thing but why do people trim it and sell it? Maybe just for $$ perhaps. Maybe I'll try to post in another forum.
Thanks

You want to trim your chaeto, because when you have growth, then the chaeto will filter out nutirents out of the water. Put it in simple terms: growth = nutirents being filtered out of the water and no growth = no nutirents being filtered out.

Oh yeah, you definitely want to trim every once in a while, but as long as it's still growing and parts of it aren't decaying you should be fine. Do whatever you have to do in order to maximize growth.
