about 4 months ago I bought from a reputable person on this site who sells to everyone here and everyone knows the person.
(no names are going to be mentioned)
I bought some beautiful purple polyps, a rather small colony for
$100.00

well I just came back from my LFS and bought the same size colony in the same exact color for
$12.00

I am not spending more than 40 for any coral ever again!!!!

price change that was months ago. Go on with your life and be happy that you now have two for $112.00

ouch, that happened to me, except i bought a $50 coral that should have been $25, not as much as a difference, but don't give up on the expensive corals, i bought a $65 that is now worth $135!

no one made you buy the coral. obviously you were willing to pay the price then....so.......enjoy what you have.

I love capitalism. I agree be glad you have two for 112.00. Smile and rely on karma to even up the score (thats how I keep my sanity) :)

i guess i am not too angry, now that a couple hours have passed
and several people have said thatwas the price at the time.
it was just from 100 to 12. I have lost some good money in the stock market, even from 80 per share to 30. But nothing this bad.

life is life, I realize that it is a market system and I apologize to the peron who sold me the awsome looking zoos

sorry, i got the only 1.

Blue buildings and in big letters "tropical fish" but they do have a name that I jsut don't remember what it is.

That's how things go.
I feel your pain.
Sometimes you do get lucky though.
A 7 inch acan lord colony was going for thousand months ago, Now they are down to hundreds, still high, but the price is rolling down.
Dendrophyllia is next on the list of corals to be cut in price.
It's basically a big ole tubastrea. They will lose their "Panache" soon enough. Patience is key.

The place is called Tropical Imports. The selection is pretty weak, but sometimes, they get in corals that are REALLY cheap. Very rarely though. I think it's because they don't know what they have sometimes... How long ago did you get it at?

Hey, has that place been there for a long time? I used to shop at a SW place around there about.. 12 years ago?... when I had my first tank. Fish and inverts back then; I don't recall any corals. They were always nice folks, so hopefully it's them and they are still in business.

Yeah theyve been around for at LEAST 18 -19 years. I used to go there when i was 6 years old. They had a tomato clown that they had for 14 years and just last year, it jumped out and died... sux... I dont remember if they had corals back then either but then again, I was only 6. The folks are very nice, but not always knowledgable IMO. Their stock could use a bit of work too. But then again, I havent seen any LFS that sells stuff cheaper than they do. I bought a RBTA from them for 25$, harlequin shrimp for 15. They also had a HUGE flowerpot (i think, or maybe jewel coral, I'm kinda new to this hobby), one that was about maybe 6-7 inches across for 20$. Now these are all just certain items. I cant say that all thier other stuff are cheap, esp. the fish. they're way overpriced IMO.

bergamer,

You're not the guy who bought the colony of brown zoo from me did you? Sorry man, those were hard to find back then. :) I paid $100 for my first Rose Anemone, then I found some people were giving them away for free. Now I don't even want a single anemone in my tank. Like everything else, you just have to laugh and move on.

I like your avatar...

Bergamer,
I think most of reefers got the same situation of your case from the beginning....As long as you love it, it is priceless "be happy and move on".
