im going back to school soon and will be living in an apartment with other people. my goal is to set up/ instal an RO/DI unit under the sink to be used for drinking as well as water top off & making saltwater.

i have purchased a nice 100gallon per day unit here:
http://www.aquaticreefsystems.com/Reverse_Osmosis_4Stage.htm

please help me choose fittings and VERY BASIC (pictures help me a lot) INSTALATION INSTRUCTIONS.

i have seen this:
http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=YSP5531

and the drinking water kit on this page:
http://www.aquaticreefsystems.com/RO_DI_Aquarium_Accessories.htm

do these kits have everything that i need? what kind of tools do i need to install?

now while im there. i would like a very clean instalation. i assume that would have to tap into various hoses/ pipes for the source and drain, is that correct. BUT if i do tap into those, that would mean poking a hole and how do i plug up that hole when i leave? and the faucet, how do i install that without permantly damaging things??

thanks in advance, i did try to search this information but couldnt find it. so please help!!!!

Danny, pretty much the same thing that the directions in Tony's link. When I got my RO/DI unit from filterdirect, it came with all the fittings needed, plus more.

Here is a breakdown:
For water input: Under the sink, where the cold water feed hose meets the thread to your faucet, use the inline connector with a 1/4" T for the RO unit.
For water output: 1/4" inch hose straight to the RO dispensing faucet, or storage tank
For waste: This is the only time you may need to tap a pipe. The directions were to use the clamp that goes around the drain pipe in the sink. There is a 1/4" connector there for the waste water and goes directly into the drain. When I setup mine, I simply have the 1/4" waste water tube in my garage sink. I let it fill containers of water, and use that to water plants and fill washing machine, etc.
