do you use a ph probe intermittently or full time solenoid probe to control the reactor ph

IMO if you set the reactor up properly and dial it in, this takes time, you do not need to monitor the effluent constantly. I monitor the system pH with an Octopus so I can see when there is a problem. The solenoid is a good option as it will shut off CO2 supply should you lose electricity when you are not around.
