65K iwasaki vs 10k

Hey Im thinking of doing this 100 MH deal and alittle nervous about locking into the iwasaki specific ballast.
I know I can get ballast that run all lights but I hear they dont run the iwasaki as well. The iwasakis are always good priced so thats pushing me in that direction.
Ill be supplimenting the 250w MH with 4 96w actinic PC's over a 170g reef.
What do you all think of this bulb versus other bulbs such as 10K usio or aqualine.
Any thoughts you could shed before I unload the sacred stash of money Ive been hiding:D

I run my 250 watt Sakis and my 400 watt Sakis on the combo MH/MV ballast. They run VERY bright and are not yellow at all. IMO you are fine getting the combo ballast for the Sakis...then if you don't like them you just have the expense of buying a 10K bulb.

what 250w ballast are you running and where did you get it?

I use the 250 watt ballasts that came with my Hamilton system...I believe they are Magnetek.

The 400s are the ballasts on this site.

Not this thread again:rolleyes: . This is all preference and tolerance. Do you like coral growth? How yellow can you tolerate the tank looking? Please do a search and read. This has really been beat into the ground with a dead horse if you know what I mean.

Personally I always end up coming back to the Ushio 10,000K. It is my favorite. Not as much PAR, but beautiful color on tank and corals.

I gotta admitt that i don´t have any MH, but i´m going to buy one 250 this week.
After doing soo much reading and visiting comparisions, I will go with the 10k, they produce a great crisp white than a yellow tint from the 65k
