I am buying a very LARGE tank and I need some advise.

It is a 550gl acrylic tank down in San Diego. I think I am going to need at least 10 people to move it. How should I go about this? Hire a moving company? If so, which one? I think I am way over my head here...any advise is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance:D

is the tank currently set up now? if so dont use a moving company. possible a very good maintance company
i broke mine down and basicially had some big fellers to help lift
i started at 8 am andhelp showed up at 12 finished at about 10 pm everything was pretty much done, but i only moved 1.5 miles from my shop to my house and all the live stock n water went into my outdoor system not in the tank. so just gad to put the tank in the garague that was the easy part dealing with all of the live stock was my main concern.

urgh....I am going from OC to San Diego, not 1.5 miles. I wish it was only 2 miles away. The tank has nothing in it but some sand and rock. Who do you think I should contact, maintance company wise?

Thanks Steve... I might just take you up on the offer. Hehe, one down, 9 more to go;)

Hey Jen,

When are you planning to do this? If it falls on the day that I'm available, I'll be gladly to help you. I have a niece and a nephew that I haven't seen for awhile and they lived in San Diego. This could be a good reason to go down there and visit them.

I moved a 180gl with 50gl refuge. I used a company here in OC called Southern California Aquatic Life Services. They put 4 guys plus the owner on the job. They tore it down in Upland moved all water and equipment to my house in Anaheim (40 miles). They did a excellent job in setting it back up. The whole system was down less then 6 hrs. In my opinion the money was well spent. I paid around $1200 for the move.

Jeffrey I might take you up on that, I just need to figure out if it would be easier for a mover just to do it all.

Marsch do you have the phone number? I will call and see if they go down to SD.
