Okay it is time for an end of May tank update. For all of you reading this who don’t already know, the tank is 60 gallons with a 10 gallon refugium and a 30 gallon sump with about 13 gallons of actual water in it. The refugium is on a reverse lighting cycle to the tank. The calcium reactor is finally up and going. What a difference it makes, I don’t have to worry about adding calcium every day. I have added my auto top off system that is comprised of a 5 gallon Kent aqua- dose, and a Kent float switch. I went the float method mainly because frankly the last thing I needed was another cord. I know the electronic top off’s are nicer and less likely to fail, but this is the method I have chosen. When the valve fails and dumps the remainder of the fresh water is dumped into my tank you can say “ I told you so. In the 5 gallon container there is about 3 gallons of kalk. and the rest is just plain RODI. These two items give me much more piece of mind, knowing that I don’t need to check the tank every day for topping off and adding calcium. Before this all happened some of you might remember that I was having trouble with my SPS receding form their bases, RTN, and STN’ing on me. I was ultimately unable to find a definite cause, but I did two interceptor treatments, stopped ROWA, ran about 2 pounds of carbon and Chemi pure, and changed around 100 gallons of water. All of this over about 30 days. For the last four weeks there has been no reappearance of any recession and the corals have returned to growing quickly. I have replaced some of the corals that I lost, but not all of them. Below there is a few new photos taken earlier today. I just added the PBT yesterday and am not sure if it will become a permanent tank mate. It is the smallest one I have seen at around 3’’ in length. I still have a Potters Angel in my refugium, with a few Acroporas, Montiporas, and a Crocea clam just to make sure that it is reef safe. I plan to talk camera's when I go to Gregs swap because my skills are sucking I am unable to get any good photo's from the front of the tank. thus the top down will have to suffice until I get better.

Wow it looks great... Everything looks healthy, I love it, I have a gomezi also. They tend to darken up a lil bit but it will lighten up again... Looks nice man.

Thank you Rolland and Krucial. I can find a good way to get rid of the light reflection of the MH without the actinics taking over.
