View Full Version : Seaweed Selects turned to nasty goo...

Trying to feed a new 6" Naso in my 200 and used a rubber band to tie some Seaweed Selects Green Marine Algea to a rock -- this was on Sat.

Naso did eat some (saw him), but when I got back into the office today, there was a good bunch of it left with white spidersilk-looking stuff growing on it. When I took it out, I saw that it had been reduced to a green slime and smelled like a dead snail.

Is this normal? Do I need to get out whatever he does not eat faster?

Also, he seems to be a really picky eater. He seems to prefer picking at new rocks more than the Marine Algea or Nori. Anything else I could try?

Thanks,

matt

I believe the instructions say to remove the uneaten portions after 6 hours...not that I do...

Anyway, one thing you might try to get the tang eating it is to soak the seaweed in Garlic before feeding. This worked with my Goldrim Tang.
