Just got my first car, I plan to put some money into a system. Just wondering if anyone else is into this kind of stuff. Maybe a picture and/or discription of what you have. Thanks

in a 2004 Infiniti FX35 (Was originally in a 2003 Nissan 350Z - minus the rear speakers)

Alpine Head Unit
MB Quart 6.5"Qs component in the front
MB Quart 6.5" reference in the rear

Personally I really like the MB Quart speakers but the Qs can definitely put a whole in your wallet.

I've got a small system,
Pioneer Premier CD player
Polk Audio 6.5" components
2 Rockford Fosgate Punch 500's
2 10" Diamond Audio M6 Subs

That's it for me, it sounds pretty good and get nice and loud and stays clean which is what I like. I'd take pics but my truck is torn apart right now, undergoing some upgrades.

This was a few years ago during my mid life crisis after getting a divorce I had a $3,000+ custom system for my truck that reached 132 db with the windows down (otherwise there was not enough air push for the subs). I did all the installation an construction myself or it easily would have been $5,000+.

Can't remember all the model #'s but these are some of the best brands out there still I'm sure:

Some Alpine head unit
MB Quart component set powered by a Soundstream 2 x 100 watt amp
2 Cerwin Vega Stroker 12's powered by a Precision Power 2 x 400 amp with 2 Lighning Audio 1 Farad Caps
Audio Control 1/3 Octave 30 Band EQ/crossover
7" LCD screen with DVD player and Playstation 2

This system was a head turner but more importantly created an awesome sound stage for anyone in the drivers seat. I miss it. I now have a factory stereo and music just isn't the same.:(

Would definitely have to agree with this one. I have an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10 and it's an awesome sub. I have it hooked up bridged to a 700 watt Lightning Audio amp (yeah, I know, cheap ;) ) and it sounds great. Has really good sound quality and will get the car shakin pretty good if I want it too. I just have one and it's loud....can imagine what it would be like with 2 or with 12's. Definitely recommended.

Alpine 7995 With Alpine XM Tuner/MP3 Playback
Custom Rear Deck To Hold Amps, Cap, and PS2
German Taxi Light Switch (6th switch)
Rear DC Outlet Changed To AC Plug
Rockford Fosgate 1 Farrad Cap
Alpine Screen In Glove Box
Infinity Kappa Components
Hardwired Passport 8500
12" JL W3 in ported box
JL 500x5 Amp
Playstaion 2

Although this is far from an award winning system, it really is perfect for me. I don't need to win any competitions, or wake up the block. I have tuned down the bass and never crank the volume anymore. Occasionally I will let my friends borrow my car, and when I go to drive it again I am startled because they all turn it up quite a bit and forget to turn it back down. I couldn't be happier with Alpine, Infinity, and JL Audio.

Thats a really nice instal. I wish I could have something a little more custom, however I need to carry stuff around all the time. I am also constantly taking vacations/road trips with friends, so my sub had to be removable.

I have MB Quart three way components in the front pushed by a Precision Power amp, Sony head unit, 2 Boston Acoustic Pro 12's pushed by a Soundstream amp (that's at least 10 years old and still works great), an MTX electronic crossover, 1 farad Street Wires cap and 2 Audio Control single channel EQ's. All in an '01 Escape and I installed it all.

Hey Jordan,

I have a JL audio 15" W6(i think its W6) sub that I'm willing to part with. You'll need to make/buy your own box and amp. Got any decent frags? will also take $.

When I had both in my old car, they used to make you light headed. These certainly pound, and can handle tons of wattage.

I may also be willing to part with the front component kickers as well. Also JL audio, but have alpine grills on them.

yep...15W6. just checked the site. Except mine has JL emblem in the middle, vs the current design.
