I just took some pics of my new favia at night. I didn't know they had such awesome feeders at night.

Looks like micro polyps/tentacles...

Anyone agree?

Can you take a daytime pic w/o feeders?

Here are a couple of actinics as the halides have not come on yet. I think it's a pretty cool coral.

I'll get some with the halides on in an hour or so.

If the corallites are small, less than 5mm, you might have a micro diminuta. They are hard to differentiate from the smaller faviids but looking at the feeders, most likely a mussid.

Nice find! :)

Well I don't know what coral it is. I just assumed it to be a favia. It's a nice size, so I picked it up. It's not a special color or anything, but it does fluouresce nice with actinics. Thanks for trying to ID it.

Mine does the same thing, here it is with the lights on

and with the lights out. The picture is a little out of focus, I was trying to get a picture of the clown sleeping underneath it.

Oceanarus,
That favia has some huge polyps looks like. Although the pic is pretty blurry, the tents on that thing are crazy too.

It is super-puffy, it about doubles in size from deflated to inflated. I think it is my favorite LPS I have. I have fed it pieces of chopped shrimp that were about the size of my finger nail.
